Leoni AG Group made a strategic decision to shift its focus towards the automotive industry's wiring systems while divesting from the Wires & Cable Business.
In line with this strategy, Leoni AG identified a specific group of business units and presented them to potential strategic buyers and investors. Among those units, Leoni Kerpen GmbH stood out, particularly due to the historical significance and specialized expertise of its Stolberg Plant. This facility not only offers solutions in the Oil & Gas Industry but also excels in providing Industrial solutions in Instrumentation & Control Cables. Additionally, Leoni Cable Solutions (India) Private Limited was included in this selection, as both entities shared similar business domains. Notably, Leoni India had received continuous guidance from Leoni Kerpen since its inception in 2013 as the second plant in India.

Starting from 2017, Leoni India secured additional investments to expand its product offerings, leading it to venture into Transport Solutions (Rolling Stock) and Renewable Energy (Solar Power Cable Solutions). These endeavors were supported by training and supervision from Leoni Studer, based in Switzerland.
A significant challenge emerged in July 2021 when severe floods struck Germany and certain central European regions. In response, Leoni AG declared force majeure for customers associated with Leoni Kerpen - Stolberg plant, as the floods had washed away all plant machinery and inventories. In that critical situation, Leoni India had stepped in, providing support to customers with open orders from Leoni Kerpen, Stolberg Plant, ensuring uninterrupted supply despite the adversity.Subsequently, this event positioned Leoni Cable Solutions (India) as the sole plant within the Leoni Group equipped with comprehensive designs, cables manufacturing technology, skilled personnel, strong references, and a remarkable track record in supplying cables for Industrial Projects Business.

Leoni India has firmly established itself as a key player in the wire & cable solutions industry within India. Its products reach diverse geographies, including Australia, Southeast Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. The company's offerings find application in sectors such as Oil & Gas, Refineries, Pharmaceuticals, Fertilizers, Specialty Chemicals, Indian Railways, and Solar Power Energy generation, catering to well-regarded players.
Moving forward to August 2022, Leoni AG took a significant step by divesting its entire shareholding in Leoni Cable Solutions (India) Private Limited to Ravicab Cables Private Limited.
